Economic Freedom

"... the Constitution allows for many things, but what it does not allow is the most revealing. The so-called Founders did not allow for economic freedom. While political freedom is supposedly a cornerstone of the document, the distribution of wealth is not even mentioned. While many believed that the new Constitution gave them liberty, it instead fitted them with the shackles of hypocrisy." -- Barack Obama

Government distribution of wealth and economic freedom are mutually exclusive, Mr. Obama. In other words, you cannot have economic freedom if government manages the distribution of wealth.

The "shackles of hypocrisy" come from corrupt douche-bag politicians who crumble to special interest groups for the almighty dollar, while at the same time, telling his/her constituents that he/she is fighting for their best interests. YOU, Mr. Obama, have done more to betray the economic freedoms of this country than all of our most corrupt companies combined.

...and what do you mean by "so-called" founders?

It has come to my attention that this quote from Obama may be false. Nevertheless, whether he wrote it or not, it is quite obviously what he believes, as he's practically said so much in regards to health care and reparations.

Besides, the purpose in quoting it isn't to demonize Obama personally, but to make the point that economic freedom cannot be achieved through government intervention -- *by definition*.

There are many who truly believe the message of the 'fake-thesis', including Obama and many in congress. Unfortunately, our politicians' solutions to fix the problems of poverty/wealth gap are polarized, and both critically flawed, unfortunately. The "Big Brother" mentality of the Dems destroys personal responsibility and the "Sink-or-Swim" mentality of the Reps fails to enable the truly impoverished to help themselves, even if they want to. There is a solution in the middle and all we care about is which party will get its way...
